Think we should just get on with our lives, it's what woolly and worth would have wanted. http://www.diyweek.net/news/news.asp?id=12081

Woolies rears it's ugly head again to a world that isn't that bothered

Am I the only one who just isn't that bothered about Woolworths? I can't say it's left a massive gaping hole in my life and yet people just keep trying to resurrect it.

At first it was just a ghost in the machine, coming back as an online retailer http://www.diyweek.net/news/news.asp?id=11986 I consider this ironic as I suspect one of the reasons Woolworths bit the dust is their failure to move with the times: they failed to go online early enough. With a reputation for selling CDs they could have started an download store etc on their website. Anyway they failed to ask my opinion at the time.

Then reports begin that some of the ex-employees of Woolworths have become so institutionalised that they just cant cope and are raising the cash to keep their store going as Wellworths. http://www.diyweek.net/news/news.asp?id=12027 That's one way to avoid the scary world of job centres and sending out CVs to poundland.

But now, scarier still, 3 former Woolworths bosses are starting again. "We want to create a better version of the old Woolies...We could have 300 sites in three year's time if things work out." Because even though they ballsed it up last time they are pretty sure they know where they went wrong. Basically they can't imagine what life would be like if they were not running Woolworths. They are just going to keep flogging that dead horse until they are ABSOLUTELY sure it will never get up again. Their first priority in starting up their 'new' business? Apparently "looking for a name as close to the original retail chain as possible." It worked for Gandalf after all.

Please people, stop the madness. If it ain't broke don't fix it, and if it's clearly beyond repair move on with your lives. It's what Woolly and Worth would have wanted.
Like a vampire clawing its way out of the coffin Woolworths just keeps coming back! http://www.diyweek.net/news/news.asp?id=12081 300 stores!
